We are a retired, stay-at-home couple and two-time Golden Retriever family, devoted to providing 24-hour care and companionship. Your Golden will never feel alone — their stays are filled with presence, play, and gentle affection.

Our Environment

Our home is nestled within an expansive fenced yard surrounded by trees and gardens, Heart of Gold Retreat offers safe spaces to run, sniff, and explore. Each day include nature walks, plenty of outdoor playtime, and cozy spots for rest and cuddles.

What should I bring for my Golden’s stay?

Please bring your Golden’s food, leash, and any favorite toys, blanket, or comfort items that help them feel at home. If your Golden requires medication, provide clear instructions at drop-off.

What are your drop-off and pickup times?

Daycare: Early morning drop-off, with standard pickup by 6:00 p.m. (late pickups subject to additional fees).
Sleepovers: Evening drop-off and morning pickup. Pickups after 12:00 p.m. may be subject to a half-day daycare fee.
Vacations: Flexible start and end times arranged in advance.

Do you accept other breeds?

Heart of Gold Retreat is designed exclusively for Golden Retrievers. However, we may accept Golden Doodles, Portuguese Water Dogs, and Golden Retriever mixes, provided they are gentle in temperament. Because we share our home with two elderly cats, only dog breeds known for calm and friendly dispositions will be considered.

How many dogs do you care for at once?

We focus on small numbers to ensure each Golden receives devoted attention, safety, and love. Typically, we care for one Golden at a time (or two from the same family).

Where will my Golden spend their time?

Your Golden will enjoy our extra-large fenced backyard with trees and gardens, daily nature walks, indoor play, and their choice of cozy rest areas within our home. They are always supervised and treated as part of our family.

What safety measures do you follow?

All Golden guests must provide veterinary and emergency contact details. We keep a pet first-aid kit on hand and are committed to providing safe, attentive care 24/7.
